Tune: Doncaster
('Put thou thy trust in God')
Philippians 4 v.6-7
*********
Lord, you promise to hear
Our prayers when we draw near
To you, help us not to fear, for
We may trust you for sure
Guide us to pray your will
Our selfish desires still*
May we be anxious for nothing
Hope and help to us bring
Having prayed, with thanks too
Your peace to us renew
The peace of God, which shall keep our
Hearts and minds calm each hour
Beyond understanding
It be, how in each thing
God's peace shall keep us through His Son
Jesus Christ, He the One
-------
* 'still' in the sense of 'quieten'.
