Let’s steal a broken down truck
Drive deep in the woods till our tires become stuck
Dive into the backseats with our old raggedy quilt
Red wine stains from where we previously spilt
Breathing in each others scent
Oh the musical rain from the skies are sent
Stripped naked our souls lay bare
Tender embrace our eyes lock in and stare
This night reveals our inner vulnerable state
We pull in close so neither can escape
That raggedy quilt vacuums in our air
United we become a breathless pair
We lay both fulfilled as the raindrops drops soften
We look up to the stars inhibitions forgotten
Open and pure we lay to bed our scares
As this beautiful night we’ll share each other beneath the glistening stars

- Comment from author about the poem: Returning back with an old poem. Written when I was last here. Hopefully I can get some new words flowing. Been a very rough year but I am definitely on the other side of it. Hoping to become inspired again.
