There before him sat the blank manuscript,
On it he put a black dot with a tail,
The next note to the page he gladly slipped
Starting the music that to all would sail.
As he finished each page of the music
More notes would start to gather in his mind
And from them all the next one he would pick,
So many notes there for him to try and find.
He then came to the last page to be writ
Finished with a joyous grin in his mind,
He played the music and all notes did fit
But there was another tune in his mind.
Once more he then composed some more music
And the metronome would once again click.

- Comment from author about the poem: There is so much music to be heard, I have all 626 pieces of Mozart's work, most of Beethovens 722 pieces and so much more of many composers, I am astounded at how they could write so much music. All I do is listen to it and I say to people, "So much music, so little time."

It amazes me too just how many tunes there are already .. am off to see Dylan again in November .. he must surely be among the most prolific .. πΆπΆπ΅πΆπ΅π΅πΆ
Very true Neville, how do they manage to compose so many pieces?

Good write Gold.
Does anyone have my collection of hymn-poems with me singing them all?! Who could bear that? Me singing 'em, that is! lol.
Yes I have them Orchi but I sent them to that place "Far Away". LOL.

What I find most intriguing is how modern composers borrow, beg or steal from the past. Varriations on tunes is like poets that borrow ideas from past poets and weave them in to their works. I guess nothing is truely orriginal. Good write Gold loved the flow of this piece
Thank you soren so true nowadays but much of the music I listen too was written before anybody else could copy it. As the saying goes "I listen to music created by dead people."
Andy
