The Miracle.

David Wakeling

Let me sleep now, with the blue bells in flower,
I would like to rest with beauty in my eyes,
All their subtle sweetness will never sour,
Unchallenged by the tranquil turquoise skies.

Let me walk this stony walk in my bare feet,
So that I will not miss this palace of lies,
I will hold my hands up against the deceit,
And step into the truthful light of the wise.

My heart will welcome the  heavenly seraph,
With a smile of gentleness and elation,
For my life has been along a sacred path,
And I have danced under the miracle of the Sun.

An enchantingly beautiful poem. This floats on the breeze of poetry.

All of life is quite the sacred dance, it’s probably when we ‘wake’ that a pause occurs, until the music begins once more.
