Strangers to Something.

Strangers to Something

I’ve never spoken a word to you—
But I’ve seen you, scrolled through your story,
Flipped through the pieces of your timeline,
And it feels like I’m catching glimpses of a mystery.
Your laugh? It’s infectious.
Your energy? Magnetic.
But we’re strangers,
Living in the distance between clicks and swipes,
Caught in the space where real life and digital life collide.

I don’t like it.
I don’t like that we’re these passing profiles,
Just fleeting views of each other’s world,
Like ships that never dock but always see the same horizon.
Because you? You seem like more than just a post,
More than the likes, more than the stories told through captions.
I’d like to know the you behind the screen,
The real you, the one that lives outside the frame.

I’m not saying we’re fated,
Not claiming that we’re meant to be,
But there’s something here, a curiosity.
A spark that says, "Maybe we’re not meant to stay strangers."
Maybe we could meet outside these glowing screens,
In a world with no filters, where the light hits just right,
And we can speak in real time,
With words that linger longer than a double tap.

So, here’s me
No pressure, no rush,
Just wondering if maybe you’ve noticed me too.
And if not? That’s cool.
But if there’s room for more than scrolling glances,
I’d love to meet the person behind the posts,
And see what happens when we’re not strangers anymore.

Wow. Hard-hitting reality addressed too winsomely to effect. I love how beautifully you've rendered our very common case on the worldwide web interface, more especially since having chatted with a colleague at work only hours ago about how he met his wife [whom he's now getting rid off, sadly]. Wonderfully rendered with excellent imagery and aptly haunting poignancy. Thank you very much for sharing.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful words. It's amazing how these conversations can bring out such raw truths and emotions, especially when they resonate with our personal lives and shared experiences. I’m glad it struck a chord with you, even if the topic is bittersweet. It’s moments like these that make the stories we share feel more real, more impactful. Thank you for your openness—it's an honor to be part of this shared space where our experiences, both beautiful and challenging, can find expression.
