It started out being a lovely day,
sitting here enjoying the ocean view.
Waving at bathers as they passed my way.
Sunny days like these make me feel brand new.

I thought; what a blessed guy I've always been.
Make a six figure salary, no lie.
I'm lucky at gambling, I always win.
Today; was unlucky, I'll tell ya why!

This will be my final visit I fear.
I can't believe that this happened to me?
It's a long walk to the diner from here.
At least two football fields it would be.

Two seagulls swooped down, and snatched all my fries~

Thieves they are. Had them try to pilfer from me too. When was younger took my kids to the beach and we would hand them bread as they glided in the air at head level. A most fun read

I sat on the beach communing with nature;
Keen so I was to work out my future.
Impeded by a minor apocalypse:
Two bloody seagulls came and nicked my chips..
