Salute

David Wakeling

We all walk to the top of the hill when that big brass bell tolls,
Only to see the view anew and stand in awe at the infinite beauty.
Some on those with a tender heart never return to the Valley of Joy.
To those I lift a glass of wine and wipe the tears from this ancient face.

Come with me to the sandy beach when the wind whistles by,
And salute those who face the day with courage,
Salute to those who have Valour in times of misfortune.
And herald those who find Joy in the Good times,
Belief where there is diffidence ,
Honesty against deceit
And tolerance in days of lassitude.
But above all find Kindness on the walk home.

Great write David and that last line is so meaningful, if only we all could find kindness.

A beautiful message that I wish we all could adhere to. The last line is my favorite and I wish all would honor.
