Dream Girl

subu

At the most inopportune time
At the least expected place
She stood inconspicuous
Dwarfed by the many who towered over her
Unknowingly becoming the person
That I would desire to have by my side

As I walked past the crowd, I bumped into her
While I apologized, she turned her face
And flashed a big smile with a
“Hi I’m ..”
Becoming the dream
That I would crave to see every moment

Thus began a new friendship
Morphing from a simple text
to extended chats
To ridiculously long conversations on mundane things
Becoming the reason
I carried my phone night and day

Life took upon itself to plan the rest of the game
While we got lost within each other
Finding every excuse to run into the other
Becoming the glue
That pulled us into a love affair

Sometimes fighting over banal things
Quickly dissolving into sweet nothings
Cuddled in the arms of each other
Losing sight of the real world
Becoming the tick of the clock
That we lived with the beat of our hearts

As the moon waxed and waned
She etched herself into my life
Becoming the dream girl
That I desired
Becoming the sunshine
That I reflected every moment
Becoming the only reason
I wanted to wake up every day
