Maybe It’s Time to Share Father C’s Secrets
When Father C came to me
the first time,
he came completely empty
handed ..
That was long before he was
ordained though ..
The next time, was in a very
vivid dream, or so
it seemed and which for some
reason, was recurring ..
On those occasions, he came
with a sparrow
and a robin, nesting in each
of his already
warmed and open palms ..
He then looked
a lot, like a saint might look,
I thought ..
And now, I think he planned it
like that all along ..
Later upon my waking, he smiled
and bid me follow him,
with ice-creams and a pocketful,
of chocolate
and those cheap candy bars ..
Only recently
I heard that Father C has since
served time for
touching up lots of little boys ..
Apparently
both in and out of the school
where he
once taught and even in those
damp, dark,
and dusty rooms behind church,
where I once
sang in the choir and he used to
carry me
twice each week, high on those
broad shoulders of his,
but only on choir practice nights ..
However, I’m now
pleased to report, the last thing
I heard, he was again
under close police surveillance for
a handful or more,
of quite recent, indecent offences ..

Now Neville the ambiguous C unfairly led me down the wrong path to a back room in my mind where I expected Christmas but was instead found the naked truth and so in shock and denial I still tell myself that it was a metaphor and was Christmas in disguise. Sad but well done poem Neville
like I've said so many times before, it's not all about pink fluffy bunnies, love hearts and stuff is it .. cheers sorenbarrett & thanks for feeling it my way .. Neville
Unbelievable amount of corruption and hypocrisy involved here. But I don’t believe this is limited to the Catholic church or politics or the family or any other element constituting the fundamentals of society.
I enjoyed this as a clear criticism, just one of many I hope, of a mélange of values unhampered by critical thinking.
Thanks Neville.
Thanks Dave .. I hope I did not give the impression this had anything to do with any particular denomination .. That was certainly not my intention .. it was in fact high order C of E .. but let's keep that between the two of us .. You are of course right in pointing out the extremely widespread nature of such corruption .. Sincere regards, Neville
Thanks Neville - in tune here....

You're welcome
sad but true commentary - happens everywhere- needs to be trumpeted so that all are aware..
Thank you and kindly .. I think it is generally known about & widely but there are those who would prefer it otherwise .. Neville
