I'm tired of watching 2 birds in a cage
sing squawk and beak at each other
you refuse to fly away from your cage
because you love your cage
your 2 birds in a cage
one is red and one is blue
you just want that battle
that feeds your ego
because your so much better than the other
so much smarter than the other
but when you take a step back
you realize your not so different
you are both idiots who choose to be in a cage

Were you allowed to make me laugh out loud with your metaphor? La dee! How beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a delightful poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
one thing I've learned about talking about complex issues is 1.always add humor (i least i think its funny to point out how absurd things are) and 2. make your point as simple as you can make it. because when you dumb down a complex issue and make it feel like your reading a poem for a child it really kicks that level of "oh this is actually really stupid". and i find that so funny. thank you for your words
