I can't look them in the eyes

Leonardo Abreu

I feel ashamed of
so much sentimentality
It's funny how so many people consume each other
for so many trivialities
pride, selfishness, prejudice,
love
none of these captivate me as much as
cowardice

I'm such a coward that I end up not feeling
certain things
I'm trapped in a cage, another dimension
in which people end up being worth something

maybe this is just a dream
maybe it's time to wake up

It takes bravery to admit such a thing… be more compassionate my friend. Good poem

Nicely written. The imagery conveyed is really interesting. Loved it.
