Notice of absence from arqios
Be kind….
…. words don’t rewind
Be kind….
…. words don’t rewind
Welcome mates to Pirate's Cove
Warm yourselves, come by the stove
Tell us now, your journeys bold;
Of maiden's fair and coins of gold.
Regale us with tales of distant lands,
Of battles fought on shifting sands,
Of treasure maps and secret caves,
Of briny seas and stormy waves.
Share the legends, both old and new,
Of gallant ships and loyal crew,
Of daring quests and danger near,
Raise your mugs, let's give a cheer!
For in this cove, where fires glow,
Among good friends, let stories flow.
With laughter loud and spirits high,
We'll dream beneath the starry sky.

was that the 1780's by any chance Cap'n 🏴☠️🐧👍
Could very well be! But of much more recent vintage, the poem, that is!
A rollicking read!
Thanks kindly 🙏🏻
And I'd endorse yarns relating to the Golden Age of Piracy as well as "Treasure Island", but also modern piratical endeavours...
Good stuff, Rik.
Cheers DD 👍🏻
Have lived on the Treasure Coast of Florida for many years and not only were there pirates here many years ago but there are still pirates here today. A most fun write Cryptic
I bet modern piracy has a different feel from the swashbuckling, buccaneering days!
Colder but just as cut throat
Oh, less gentlemanly, I see….
You just reminded me of my own little pirate, with his eye patch and cutlass, afloat in a plastic boat after heavy rainfall. Many years ago but this garden memory is priceless. Your poem generated that memory. Thank you.
Nice Cassie! Would love to see a photo if one were lying about. We’re often quite used to garden gnomes but pirates in puddles! Awesome memory to have, yarr!
No photo sadly. Just a very vivid memory. Hard to think that at 6ft 4” he ever fitted into a blue plastic box, floating on a rainfall sea 😀. He was sure fierce with that cutlass though!
Good write A.
Thanks O
