Laugh oneself blind

sorenbarrett

You have to be healthy to have an operation
They swab your arm before a lethal injection
so you won’t get an infection?
Can’t get a job until you've had experience doing it
Poor finding money will soon loose it
Rich that loose money will find it soon
Enough years to kill but not to have a beer
Too much money in drugs
to cure an illness
Jail and death, the sickness of the poor
Power’s coin stamped with heads and tails
A priest that suffers little children to cum unto him
Reparations to who never suffered loss
Absurdity’s laugh echoes in the cover of night
A gag for the eyes is justice’s disguise

Story of my existence! For years I’ve up and yelled at the illogical logic of it all…. And now that I’m mostly settled in realise that I was the one that played along…. Idiosyncratic idiocy… 🤪

Thank you Cryptic for the read and understanding it is most appreciated. Sometimes Juan just has to laugh at the absurdity of it all

Sadly this is the world we live in. Completely bonkers isn’t it? Very powerful piece Soren. Highlights the madness of it all. A great piece of writing.

Thank you, Cassie. Yes, it is a crazy world we live in and the more people the more laws the more laws the more absurdity. I appreciate your reading of this poem and your most kind and understanding comments they are deeply valued.

The world is on effed up place, no? Everything seems backwards to how it SHOULD be. I remember being enraged as a kid about the beer thing. Let’s not add old enough to drive a car, but not rent. Yet you can still go to jail for life! I am still angered by it, as I hate double standards. Regardless, what can one do when most blindly accept and then keep the status quo. Wonderful write my friend. Powerfully written! 🌹👏🖤❤️🖤

Imagine if this present humanity was to continue indefinitely? Where on earth would it end up?!
                      Great write, Soren

I'll pay that very last line for sure Soren, given my take on it. Injustice in the world which goes way beyond the law.

Amen, all is good. The part about needing experience to get a job really rung true to me. That and being turned away because "I made too much money". "Reparations to who never suffered loss" these days really rankles.

The world is awful at the moment but some of us can find the goodness and love in pour own small worlds soren.

Thank you, Andy. When I see things that are absurdly wrong I find humor in them. It is the way that I find good in the bad
