Edge Of Night

Jerry Reynolds

Elves in green hide their pots of precious gold
For fear, the rainbow— will reveal the home
Bridges and Caves Imprison Ugly Trolls
Hiding as stones in the garden stand Gnomes

Bathing under mushrooms dripping with dew
Ellion ignores the fire coming by day
Gossamer fairy wings will burn is true
Ison implores his true love to fly away

The Night is the place for the Fairy Fay
Ellion begs— come here under the mushrooms
Watch with me what beauty comes with the day
Seductive trap— no wings, we die by noon

Stay alert, my beauties, and quick of flight
Joy and danger lurk on the edge of night

This is amazing ink Jez I hope you are as proud of it as indeed I am for you sir .. I have a thing about mushrooms & am one o them sad beggar's that go foraging this time of year for them .. only yesterday morn before work I spied a bunch of Sarcoscypha coccinea, commonly known as the scarlet elf cup 🍄🍄
