T & P
They send thoughts and prayers
but we return them unopened
because we know how they think
and how they live.
They can’t get together
because they can’t decide
on how to get together.
When problems arise
they can’t answer questions
on what to do.
If the job is problem solving
and they can’t solve problems
then we need others who can
unless they think it’s not a problem
and then they become the problem.
All they are being asked to do is to control guns
and their response is “It’s my God-given right!”
or “It’s a mental health problem.”
which they proved by their first response.
It’s not a God-given right.
Jesus did not go around handing out weapons
nor did he advise us to kill one another.
As we know, he preached about loving one another
and caring about our neighbors.
“From my cold dead hand,” they say
and we answer, “If you wish.”
but we don’t want to take their guns away.
We’ll gladly give a gun to whoever needs one
but not to those who want to play with them
or use them for illegal purposes.
“It is my Constitutional right.”
Yes, as part of a militia
which in today’s parlance
would be the U.S. Armed Forces.
“Sign up whenever you’re ready.”
Since we are talking
about defending the country
could all of them in the Capitols
D.C. and the States - please defend this one.
Massacres happen every couple of weeks
and they do absolutely nothing.
If they can’t prevent massacres
they’re not the people for the job.
Now, they are pushing the idea
to give everyone a gun.
This is how they think
“What can I say
to hold these people at bay?”
They know their idea is ludicrous
but they spout it anyway.
More guns is not gun control.
It is guns out of control.
As for the good man with a gun
being the solution. Just ask Texas.
How many good men does it take?
All of them need to sit down en masse
lock the door, and not come out until
they have a solution.
Only MRE’s will be served.

Such true words Phil.
Andy
"Stirring the pot again, hey? - Phil A."
I will never understand the mentality of allowing people to carry guns. We don’t have that here, they just carry knives instead. Our sick world is so violent. You tell it as it is Phil.
Well, written poem on a heavily divided issue. Nicely written.
Powerful and much to reflect on dearest Phil. 🌹
The old ones are often the best one's and in this case, they couldn't come any truer .. This needed to be said again and in my opinion, the message should be on a loop .. Neville
