I don't know if I can do it
Give me strength to see it through
I don't mind the crazy
That's the way we do
I remember last night caught hiding in the dark
The smile confirmed it
What a work of art
The follow up sounds foolish
I trust you have a plan
Give me strength to see it through
My wish is your command.

- Comment from author about the poem: The children of our very good friends are getting married. I made them a gift (or more a box to hold the gift. Rusickly crafted in my sheltered workshop!). I wanted the gift to be anonymous so went last night to leave it at their door. The house is rented, the family is Nigerian, they have three sons one is the groom.\\\\r\\\\nI\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d only been there once or twice and not for a couple of years. \\\\r\\\\nI recognise the car so knew it was the right house.\\\\r\\\\nIt\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s a brick place, have a large room on the right with a big window. Running along the left side is a narrow covered porch, leading up to a front door of frosted glass. \\\\r\\\\nI sneak up the the front room and perk up the porch, looking for cameras, then spoke what could be sensor lights.\\\\r\\\\nI decide to take a risk and just leave it on the path, when, a figure comes to the door and opens it.\\\\r\\\\nThere was nowhere to hide, all I could do is stay flat on the wall and hope they went back inside.\\\\r\\\\nThe footsteps got closer and as he approached all I could do was hold out the present. \\\\r\\\\nI was busted.\\\\r\\\\nI said \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"sorry, I didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t mean to scare you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", he said \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"you just did\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". Then gave me a full Nigerian smile.\\\\r\\\\nI said \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s a secret present, don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t tell anyone it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s from me\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"- then rushed off into the night. \\\\r\\\\nNo doubt leaving him believing he was just visited by a lunatic. \\\\r\\\\nIt was perfect, I know they\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll get the present, and I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t believe he will spill the beans. \\\\r\\\\nI haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t left many clues and should have them guessing. \\\\r\\\\nI even got my Son to write the greetings in Japanese. \\\\r\\\\nThe Nigerian wedding was tonight. The Western wedding on Monday. \\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n

The things we go through to accomplish a gesture! This would make a perfect short film for Tropfest!
If I am going to be a fool, maybe as well be a fool for him.
Thanks for all your encouragement, and, keep up the good work!
Great write
