Forget Me Not

Teddy.15

As I sit reflecting on my gracious

and sometimes not so gracious memories

from the place in which I come from

I sit and I ponder of things I did successfully

and of all the things that I did wrong

I wonder about the many pleasures

that I happened to get right

and of all those things in the middle

and all the things that helped me in my plight

reflecting on so many, not regretting even one

because that is what has made me

the woman I've become.

We are all what we were born as, altered only by the paths we follow in life and the mementoes (knowledge, scars, heartbreak, love, fortune, setbacks, etc.) we collect along the way. At any time on the journey, we are what we should be. No two of us are exactly alike, yet we are all equivalent.
