Gossip

NafisaSB

I would rather talk about things

Than the people around I know

For then they may talk about things

Rather than talk about me

Since I will value their secrets

And not spill them for all to see :

So keep the gossip you hear

Well within you , friend

For if you open your mouth

You will start an ugly trend –

Then be prepared that people

Will talk about you too

So do not spill their secrets

For you will surely rue.

Very good advice to all. Once you open your mouth, you open it to all the flies and vermin of lies. Nicely stated.

And a ‘running mouth’ is a well of trouble that never runs dry! Good stuff safina. Thanks for sharing.

Having a wee bit of trouble with minions...but never mind, an old saw "What goes around comes around" covers it too, I think, I hope....
        Well put Nafisa. Serious advice.

        • NafisaSB

i find the minions' sayings true many a time, though disagree with some.
you have rightly pointed out - what goes around, comes back: that's a fact of life
thanks for the feedback- have a good, productive week ahead

Forsooth. "...the walls have ears." Should have kept our secrets hidden, but it's far too tempting to spill the same, to more than our close friends, and oh! the ensuing effects reverberating through the very centuries! Excellently rendered with charming winsomness and great imagery. Thank you for sharing.

                    • NafisaSB

yes sometimes we do shoot off to the wrong people, who are not so close to us, and the consequences are always sad.
thanks for understanding the message..have a good day
