our kitchen smiles when
Beth has a blitz on baking
whether it’s bread
biscuits or cakes
or some other experiment
in the making
an aroma permeates
that’s positively scrumptious
while the finished product
has us drooling and asking
for more
be sure not to notice
the chaos left in her wake
for goodness sake
comes later in the day
with clearing
is there a single utensil
left untouched
or a bowl or pan clean
from ingredients of
left over cooking
well is there 🙂

That makes me want to be invited over! No one really bakes anymore and store bought goodies are too sweet, ‘too preserved,’ and too expensive…. Enjoy the relish goodies and the family camaraderie!
So right arqios, not enough home baking these days, too much bought in supermarkets. Messy Beth bakes regularly , so we aren’t short of shortbread and chocolate brownies. We also bake our own bread. Trouble is, it!s all eaten quickly so none left for anyone else. Thanks for stopping by:)
I have often wondered about the kitchen chaos and why every pan bowl needs to be dirty. When I cook, I clean each as I go so that there is no mess at the end, but then to each their own.

The kitchen smiled, the dishwasher worked overtime and the loader flaked out...but by jingo them edibles made themselves scarce. That aroma is just reaching me now....
Our Beth cooks great chocolate brownies and shortbread Dave. You’re right though, they don’t last long. Yes, the aroma is delicious isn’t it? Have a great whatever time it is there. Not sure of the time difference.

The biggest problem Cassie is when I make biscuits as every time I pass the biscuit barrel I have to have another one to see if they are still alright to eat. LOL
