Notice of absence from Neville
If I get the thumbs up tomorrow from my Doc, I hope to be in Miami on Friday for three days before jumping ship and spending three weeks sailing around South America .. Sheesh, what we do to try n get a touch of inspiration eh' .. Take care while I'm away & please forgive any delay in my going quiet for a while .. Hope to return feeling better than I do write at this moment .. AGT's Neville ๐๐

Shanty
With anchors dropped and duly set, where ere we ever docked ..
Upon these salty seas of ours, seven heartbeats were truly felt ..
Weigh anchor when the deed is done, several other vessels shot ..
One in every port at least, say’s I, each fucked, to kingdom come ..
Come virgins, wives n mistresses, we cannot, leave half cocked ..

Salty indeed. A poem of ship set sale and a sailors tail. As salty and sensual sexual if you would. I could see the Port towns sailors and felt there language in this poem. Wordplay is wonderful, but not as good as foreplay.
.................... Aye aye Cap'n ๐
Oh, captures the rough-and-tumble life of sailors, bold and unapologetic language that reflects the sailors' free-spirited and often reckless nature - it's a pirate's life for me!.
Thanks for ye reaffirmation me hearty ๐๐ง๐
A tongue in cheek entertaining read, Thank you Neville
Thanks Tobani N .. Neville
You are very welcome
Argh! This spins a great yarn of the high seas, matey! Except, in reality, itโs not really a yarn is it? I have had myself a Shanty before, though I no longer drink. Salty indeed! Well done, friend! ๐น๐
Was that a shanty, or a shandy .. but good to hear regardless my friend .. many thanks .. Neville
Ah yes, the Shandy is the drink the title reminded me ofโฆLOL! But there was a drink I had that was actually salty, back in the day. It wasnโt the Shandy, obviously! Lol! It was the Salty Dog, I think. Lol! Still sounds sea worthy! ๐ ๐ดโโ ๏ธ
Seems some are having fun, but I'm just swooning! lol.
Oh' well, you win some you lose some
Heave ho me heartiesโฆ. They heaved hard enough to pull your format out of shapeโฆ
Love their regular rhythms and can even sing, or rather roar alongโฆ
Spirit well captured, Neville. More whisky at the bar....๐

Good fun words Neville, Mary and I sing in a Sea Shanty Group.
