Shanty

Neville

Shanty

With anchors dropped and duly set, where ere we ever docked ..

Upon these salty seas of ours, seven heartbeats were truly felt ..

Weigh anchor when the deed is done, several other vessels shot ..

One in every port at least, say’s I, each fucked, to kingdom come ..

Come virgins, wives n mistresses, we cannot, leave half cocked ..

Salty indeed. A poem of ship set sale and a sailors tail. As salty and sensual sexual if you would. I could see the Port towns sailors and felt there language in this poem. Wordplay is wonderful, but not as good as foreplay.

      .................... Aye aye Cap'n 👍

Oh, captures the rough-and-tumble life of sailors, bold and unapologetic language that reflects the sailors' free-spirited and often reckless nature - it's a pirate's life for me!.

Argh! This spins a great yarn of the high seas, matey! Except, in reality, it’s not really a yarn is it? I have had myself a Shanty before, though I no longer drink. Salty indeed! Well done, friend! 🌹👏

Was that a shanty, or a shandy .. but good to hear regardless my friend .. many thanks .. Neville

Ah yes, the Shandy is the drink the title reminded me of…LOL! But there was a drink I had that was actually salty, back in the day. It wasn’t the Shandy, obviously! Lol! It was the Salty Dog, I think. Lol! Still sounds sea worthy! 😂 🏴‍☠️

Heave ho me hearties…. They heaved hard enough to pull your format out of shape…
Love their regular rhythms and can even sing, or rather roar along…
Spirit well captured, Neville. More whisky at the bar....👍
