home is where the heart beats

arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
Be kind….
…. words don’t rewind

Home, where peace and noise collide,

A sanctuary yet hard to abide.

In an unforgiving world, it's known,

But even there, I'm not alone.

Where else do I go...  but home.

Safety in the castle, enjoyed the read

So interesting an image Tobani! Yes, we all have a castle and at times the siege occurs from within its protective walls.

All too true, You are very welcome

Cryptic, Again, if you dive just below the surface of your poems, there is much deeper hidden meaning. Yes home is where the hot is and that means literally as well. What better homes than the body that we have? Yet As you say, even there, we are not alone. Our thoughts quarrel with our emotions and in that noise, we sometimes find resolution in peace. Where else can we go but there?

Oh man, now that pegs it quite squarely Me. Barrett! Thanks for that astute review and comment, Soren.

excellent ink & spilt so unashamedly & truthfully .. 👍

          • arqios

Spilt ink is kind of a state of being hereabouts.... usually nothing is more truthful than ink itself, it stains most of what it touches. Thanks N!

Home sweet home. Our refuse and where the heart is. Whether quiet or noisy and full of young adults in my case, I wouldn’t have it any other way. When it gets too crazy, a trip to the river does it for me. Enjoyed.

              Thanks Cassie 🙏🏻

I concur with our friend Soren on this, actually. Your poem both works in terms of speaking of one's abode, but also one's body. I would even add that this could even mean, where one might find themselves, and their heart, to be? It could be engaging in something one is passionate with, or spending time with a dear friend. Indeed, home is where the heart is...no matter where or with whom it is. Well done, my friend. A most excellent write and a profound read! 🌹👏❤️🏡

That is quite correct, I am more and more convinced of the thought myself. Thanks kindly

Our homes are such special places arqios, people are always welcome into our home.
