Veils Of Mystique

Cassie58

say what you mean

mean what you say

don’t allude to your feelings

while turning away

don’t hide what you’re saying

behind veils of mystique

with words rarely spoken that sound like they’re Greek

spell it out in an instant

there’s no need to stall

use language that’s simple

the best type of all

not dressed in disguise

but upright and proud

though it might raise an eyebrow

just speak it out loud

i’d rather the truth

the truth that you see

although once you have said it

i might not agree

we might on occasions

not share the same views

that doesn’t mean failure

it’s yesterdays news

The message in the well written poem is true, it can be very difficult at times to carry it. A very enjoyable read. Thank you Cassie

A gale of truth blowing right at my cryptic tendencies. But the truth is the truth! Nothing like the value and privilege of understanding and being understood.

        • Cassie58

Thank you arqios. Not easy if one of you speaks in code and metaphor:) I appreciate you stopping by.

Passing strange from you, Cassie: "don’t hide what you’re saying behind veils of mystique" So what's it all about, then?

          • Cassie58

Poor KP. She gets bad press and all her secrets come out here. Thank you Orchi.

Truth 💯. And you used very clear, unveiled, language to convey it. i hope this didn't happen on here, but regardless, this poem is absolutely true and should be read by everyone! That said, I am certainly glad you are here for poetry...heck, I'm glad you are here period! Keep sharing your poetic wisodm, Cassie. It's much needed in this world! 🌹👏🤗❤️

Very nice Cassie yes, it is the rare person that stands up against the crowd. Most people go along, even if they don’t feel like it. What we don’t realize is that one person can change the tide of a majority. Standing up for what one believes gives others courage to do the same.

                  • Cassie58

Stand up and be counted for what you feel strongly about. Thanks Soren for stopping by.

Say what you will, this is a damn fine poem. It is best that we share ideas and thoughts rather than dealing in secret. Openness mainly brings with it, truth, while secrecy harbors evil. A fine poem Cassie. - Phil A.

                      • Cassie58

Thank you so much for a generous review Phil. Pleased you enjoyed the read. All the best.

A form of great communication, I face this on a daily basis being from a different culture and language, I never fail to get my point across and in most cas s I'm respected for it, a brilliant theme dearest Cassie, say what you mean and mean what you say. Kudos. 🌹

                        • Cassie58

Thank you dear Teddy. It must have been a challenge especially when you first moved to Italy. Language and culture to contend with. You would shine wherever you are. Always thankful for your encouragement and support. 🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Yes, disagreeing doesn't make us enemies, makes us human with different opinions. While not dismising your convections, actknowledge others, discuss and learn from one another. Excellent write. Thank you.
