Tune: Bristol
('Hark, the glad sound')
Matthew 4 v.15-17
***********
Lands of Zebulun, Naphtali
In northern countries lie
Beond River Jordan you be
Near Galilee, we see
The people which sat in darkness
They saw great light, no less
To them which sat in the region
And shadow of death one
One comes to you, and light is sprung
Up, let praises be sung
This one He Jesus, God's own Son
Day has dawned, has begun
Message of salvation, Repent
The Son from heaven sent
Proclaims, for kingdom of heaven
Is near, be ready then

a very Advent-minded hymn poem .. glad you remembered my advice .. otherwise you could be seen as Absent-minded ..
Thanks N.
A stirring spiritual offering of light triumphing over darkness Orchi. Have a happy Friday brimful of light. We have sun today.
Thanks C.
Another great write . A worthy hymn. It’s funny.Orchi How these ratings of yours pull it the heart strings of one so non-religious as I
Thanks SB.
Like solar power: only works when the son shines.
Thanks 2.
And it feels nearer and nearer. All we have to do is look at the 20th century alone, never mind the 21st century and where we all seem to be headed now. Is it THE end?…no one knows the day or the hour…but be alert, for when Christ comes it will be final and the current world order, thank God, will be no more! Indeed, regardless of WHERE we are in them, we are in those times. See what you inspired in me Orchi? Love this hymn tons! Well done friend! 🙏❤️ This hymn is a great Advent hymn because while it acknowledges baby Jesus, but focuses on King Jesus…often lost in this commercialized (and yes society commercializes Jesus too) season. Bravo friend!
Thanks T.
