I know what it means to understand
To see a person for who they are
To witness all their moments firsthand
To not turn away from their scars
I can accept all their so-called “flaws”
All their little quirks and what makes them shine
The ways they cling or withdraw
I can help them see they’re perfect in their design
The thing I cannot wrap my head around
Is what it means to be understood
Is it possible for someone to truly see me?
To not run from the complexities I hold
Do I have quirks with which they can agree?
Or am I too much or not enough as I’m told?
Could they enjoy the banter I provide?
The ways I balance that out out with a deep dive
Could they see my trauma as my building blocks?
Could they love the scared little girl inside?
What does it mean to be understood?
Would someone appreciate me if they could?

A touching poem dealing with the complexities of trying to be understood and excepted for what you are. i say this from my own experience, to be excepted and understood, we have except ourselves for what we are, and that took me a long time to do. It was a well written piece and i hope you find the answers.
To be understood in seconds is still possible in LOVE.
Very nice poem
Love it
