unlikely treasures

arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
Hoping to get back to more standard interaction soon. Didn’t anticipate the toll on my personal time of late, So please forgive this current post-and-run M.O. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Discarded thoughts collide,
cast aside once too many times;
now stride across crumpled sheets,
from creative springs that rise,
fuelling the pen and paper set alight.

Ideas once buried, now burst forth:

a battered note, a torn-out page,
exploding in fervent rage... each
critic's stab, each cut so deep,
pickaxes unearthing jewels, rough
but each one worth their keep.

A poet's work here. Miners of jems that come rough and uncut from the ground, They require polishing and cutting. Very nicely mined and cut in this poem

its what we do and how we go about achieving it .. each individual word a potential gem or invaluable nugget .. building blocks .. a part of a whole .. a process of construction .. or something very much like that .. maybe .. Neville

                  • arqios

Process yes, construction: as you have aptly put it…”maybe.” Perhaps it could also be seen as puzzle pieces waiting to be put together? to be united and slotted in? Maybe πŸ€”β€¦ thanks again πŸ™πŸ»

You have summed up a poet’s lot here. All those discarded thoughts and graveyard poems. Very relatable arqios. Nicely composed.

                      Graveyard! Yes! Thanks Cassie. πŸ™πŸ»

Such wonderful metaphor and imagery, a wonderful piece of poetry, I was once told by a very wise poet that in fact it is the poet who should enjoy his poem, if others do then it's a bonus. Gorgeous dear arqios 🌹
