With your 40,000 thoughts a day
Do you think you can sway
Me,
Your beloved identity?!
Your intellect cannot get
You out of this mess
If it could engineer a release
Wouldn't you already be free
By now,
Run me straight out of town?
Just slow down and own up
What you believe to be you
Is an almighty #*_? up!

A strong message it rings with distress
There's a few entities in the way
Who don't even know they're enslaved!
Thanks for dropping by, Soren.
Aren`t we all enslaved by something, another enjoyable and interesting read, thank you
For sure! The work continues....
My comments on the poem “Engineering issues”
Some 40 000 thoughts a day… I suspect poets have even more of that… Even with this staggering number of thoughts we often fail to sway others.
“Your intellect cannot get
You out of this mess...”
Though the intellect is capable of stunning achievements, it often finds itself trapped hopelessly.
“If it could engineer a release
Wouldn't you already be free
By now...”
It is indeed ironical that, in spite of our tremendous mental powers, we fail to free ourselves.
“What you believe to be you...”
Our ideas of ourselves are often flawed or exaggerated. This is shown by our number of failures in many spheres, especially in human relations and conquering others. Even at home we fail to sway those we brought up....
Soman Ragavan.
Thanks for your detailed reply. Yes, I'm sure many poets have more than 40,000 thoughts a day!
Wow! Powerful poem Mutley! Sadly, I have felt this frustration! Well expressed! 🌹👏❤️
Thanks, Tristan. The beliefs run so deep. Well, the Great Work goes on!
Indeed, friend! Indeed.
So, lemme get this straight: I'm the only girl commenting, and likewise the only one laughing myself silly too? Include that gas of a clip and I was putting it on repeat. I most sincerely doubt I've that many thoughts in a single given day. As for precisely whom the speaker is, I canna guess for the life of me. But thank you much for that hilarious clip.
I'm happy you saw the funny side of it! Yes, you're the only girl commenting. I guess the rhyme could come across as a little aggressive?
I knew you'd like that skit by Bob and Vic!
The speaker is Mr.Limited Identity (The Devil?!) gleefully taunting the one who thinks he can break His dominion by using the intellect. However, this person is our secret psychological trainer. He's not just mocking for the fun of it. (Well maybe he enjoys it just a little!).
Thank you again. I appreciate the explanation enlightening me, and am again grateful for the hilarious clip.
You're welcome!
