Whispers of What Could Have Been

TheWanderer_and_his_Ms.Reverie

I loved you more than words could say,
A silent storm I kept at bay.
Through broken thoughts and fear’s embrace,
Your love was my safest place.

I dreamed of drives to distant lands,
Spontaneous nights, and holding hands.
London whispers, Paris in view,
Anywhere, everywhere—just me and you.

But my head, a maze of shattered glass,
Held me back and let us pass.
I was scared to fall, to speak, to try,
Afraid of failing, I let love lie.

Yet every thought I ever had,
Was yours to hear—both good and bad.
I wish I’d opened up my soul,
Before the silence took its toll.

Two weeks I begged for time to find,
A way to quiet my restless mind.
To build a world where we could be,
A love that’s whole, a love that’s free.

Then you cut the time, like a knife through air,
Two weeks vanished—you weren’t there.
A replacement waiting, truth breaking through,
My love discarded, my heart's shattered too.

And still, I see you in my dreams,
The future shining through broken seams.
A license, a car, the freedom to roam,
To drive to you, to bring you home.

I’d rewrite time, erase my fear,
Hold you close and keep you near.
For though my silence let you go,
My heart still beats for you to know.

If there’s a chance, a distant day,
When shadows of doubt have burned away,
I’ll be the man who stands so true—
To love, to cherish, to fight for you.

I’ll keep the promise I couldn’t before,
To give you my all, and so much more.
I’ll kneel before the future we’d make,
With steady hands, no more to break.

A vow to stand through joy and pain,
To weather the storms, to dance in the rain.
No fear, no silence will pull me away,
For you are the dream I’ll fight to stay.

Until then, I hold this pain,
A tender lesson, a love unclaimed.
But in my heart, you’ll always stay,
My deepest love, my light, my way

And a close relative of communication, conversation… perhaps to my mind that completes the communication cycle and allows it to continue on. Welcome to MPS!
