The Angel Message
The message of the angel of the Lord unto the shepherds at the birth of Jesus. As the angels went back to heaven, the shepherds that night then said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us".
So they came, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the baby Jesus lying in a manger [an animal's food trough]. And when they saw the family, they told them what the angel had said to them, "We were in the country keeping watch over our sheep, and angels appeared to us. The angel of the Lord said to us, "Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David [Bethlehem] a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord; and that this would be a sign unto us, that we would find the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, laying in a manger. And then suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, an on earth, peace, good will towards mankind'".
All those that heard these words wondered, but Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned to their sheep, glorifying and praising God for all the things that thy had heard and sees, as it was just as the angel of the Lord had said unto them that night.
