Occamโ€™s Razor

arqios

In the realm where truth and lies clash,

perceptions twist and often hide.

The simplest path might show the way,

but shadows’ cast may lead astray.

If I speak a lie and you believe it,

does simplicity reveal it?

If you doubt the truth,

does that make your belief the allure?

Occam's Razor, sharp and keen,

cuts through the fog where truth is visible.

Yet in the heart, where doubts linger,

the simplest truth isn't always clear.

In the mind, where beliefs take root,

the line between truth and lie can blur.

Who is right and who is wrong

when perception's grip holds strong?

Such a poignant poem today where no one knows what to believe. Perception indeed the starting point of belief and conviction. So nicely worded My friend a fave

Perception is the silent make or break, it would seem. Thanks Soren๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š

You are most welcome my friend

Always liked (even if I was unsure how to spell it โ€“ which is an indication of the depth of my understanding) Occamโ€™s razor, when utilized in scientific debate. However when used to arbitrate on my personal perceptions, I think Iโ€™m in a wee bit of trouble. The phrase โ€œmade me thinkโ€ which was the go a while back here irritated me, but in this instance I believe I will resort to it!

Sometimes itโ€™s spelt Ockham like a very old suburb or hamlet. A more โ€œromanticโ€ spelling, by my reckoning. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

We lie to you because the truth would hurt you.
I think Churchill said. ''The truth is protected by a bodyguard of lies.
          Starmer highlighted it perfectly yesterday.

You know William of Ockham, or of Occam? He lived in the UK, some distance from my home town, but in the South of the UK (1287-1347).

Wow! You had me from the title, and that turn on Occamโ€™s Razor caught me. You introduce it as clarity, then gently undercut it by reminding us how the heart complicates everything. That tension between mind and belief is where the poem is sings. Fantastic write, my dear friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›
