Notice of absence from arqios

In the culture of poetry,
we idolize the poet,
not the poem.
Rimbaud's rebellion,
Ginsberg's wildness,
Li Po's intoxicated moon.
Literary cliques’ murmuring,
gossip of livewires,
pockets and politics,
words lie dormant.
Barthes challenges the norm,
text, free of context,
interpretations, fluid, and boundless.
Critique ensnared in clichés,
growth, loss, ventures untrodden.
A plea echoes through halls,
see the work, the craft,
not the eccentric lives,
focus on the essence.

Thanks AP for the Fave ๐คฉ
The poet uses the pen, the pen gives birth to the poem, and the reader completes the circle. Beautiful arqois. ๐๐
Itโs a dynamic of several elements and personalities indeed! Thank you AP๐๐ป๐
Good write A.
Thanks O๐๐ป๐๏ธtruly appreciate you๐๐ป๐๏ธ
Here here a topic I have thought about for some time. Do we not do the same with painters and composers? Why is the life of the artist more important than his work? We live in a world where internet gossip takes us into the bedrooms of celebrities and even neighbors. We live in a socially distanced and compartmentalized sterile world devoid of personal contacts and we reach out for touch. It is not the art we wish to touch but the person. I say touch the person through his art not his art through the person. A great poem and a fave
Had a feeling youโd dig this from the get go. And so many works of art get canceled on the other end of the spectrum because of their imperfect and flawed creator/s. Thanks kindly๐๐ป๐๏ธ
Loved the write I have always looked at the poem, art, music whatever first, and value it with a clear head, then I might find out more about the creator. Enjoyed the read
Thatโs most inspiring to hear! Super good stuff๐๐ป๐๏ธ
When asked what he would want to be remembered for, Jim Morrison said, "My words, man. My words." That is what every true poet want's to be remember. Lives are but the flawed vessels out of which hope, truth, beauty, love, horror, the grotesque, the macabre and raw honesty flow. The artist is important, but the art is the focal point and the art observer is the one who breathes life into it through personal interpretation. Beautifully rendered and a well-articulated viewpoint, one I share. A fave from me. ๐น๐
Yes, both are important and both unique, almost like a parent and child the one issuing from the other but both distinct existences. Thank you kindly๐๐ป๐
Indeed. You are most welcome, my friend!
Superb.
Thanks๐๐ป๐
Limited identities? I am a poet, he/she is a poet. Maybe you aren't. You just write poetry.
Great write!
Owned or preferred identities? Indeed, these are the daysโฆ very Rimbaudian process in some ways๐๐ป๐๏ธ
It's amazing how the most unlikely people wrote Poetry: Abe Lincoln, Leonard Nimoy, George S. Patton and Bernard ( Carry On) Bresslaw. Nice one.
Indeed! That surprises me every day! ๐๐ป๐๏ธ
So true the bard is simply the conduit for the message
Thank you so much๐๐ป๐๏ธ
Time and painful facts illustrate repeatedly the work is forever more highly valued than the authors. Man himself is guilty of this in the highest regard, charged with the fault by none other than his maker. However the same proves that the potter is higher than the clay. Gorgeous and beautifully rendered with nigh exquisite imagery, thank you very much for sharing.
Thank you most assuredly ๐๐ป๐๏ธquite the quandary distinguishing the creator from the creation, in many ways they are truly one. ๐๏ธ๐๐ป
