Inflation def. noun- blowing up the economy

sorenbarrett

Offer ends soon they say
Normally four hundred, yours only nine hundred if you hurry
Buy what you don't need and can't afford to pay
Ten times more in interest, but don't worry

Box big, less inside
Price inflated
Quality a mess, return denied
Value negated

Too old to work anymore
They cut my social security you know
Each day growing more poor
They say this helps the economy grow

I'm not a fan of today's world, how very poetically said dear sorrenbarret 🌹

Thanks so much Teddy as always your words are most appreciated

They got it the wrong way around and gradually they’re bringing us back to the Middle Ages.

      • sorenbarrett

Thanks Cryptic yes feudalism where only the government owns land, you work for left overs, nobiity gives the orders. Capitalism and greed go together like bread and butter and humans love to spread it and eat it.

        • arqios

          I feel that brother!

          • Tristan Robert Lange

There are Metallica lyrics forming in my head. "You know it's sad but true". And that is because everything said here...is just that: sad but true.

          • Tristan Robert Lange

I love how you intentionally had the form (or quality) of the poem match the crappiness of today's political bullshit. Brilliant my friend, and I am sure you agree with me on this...but I get really sick of what "they" say. Who are "they" anyway? And yet they make self-serving decisions that affect the rest of us. Anywho...enough of "them"...your poem, friend, is so very wonderfully done! πŸŒΉπŸ‘

Thank you Tristan I do appreciate the read and comment. I find it amusing how we have come to accept poor quality and high prices as a standard. Despite a deliberate effort to make this poem of poor quality on another site people kept telling me about its good quality. I know that people are just rying to be nice but where does that end and honesty begin?

              • Tristan Robert Lange

🀣I hear you there. Yes, people are trying to be nice...that and, well, art really is in the eyes of the beholder...so even poor quality can generate highly emotional responses. But yes, I πŸ’― hear you there...and your poem really does drive that point home, my friend!

Taking the bull by the horn - I don't know any better illustration of the phrase than the poem.

                      • sorenbarrett

False modesty, Soren. Clear picture there (and also truthful).
Pop out as much poor quality poetry as you like - I'll understand that.

                        • sorenbarrett

Seriously Dave this one was rated only a three out of ten on the poetry scale on another site and I felt it was disposable as the poem argues. Thanks for the support though my friend.

                          So true. Sad. Well said.

That is what it is like nowadays soren, back in my days we fixed things and did not just buy new things.

It’s all about making money and cutting corners. The worse part of capitalism. I dislike intensely the way the world is moving. We need a more compassionate and a less throw away world Soren. You hit your point across well.
