Notice of absence from arqios
A reminder to extend the laurel branch… where possible.
Let us sup of the dignity of kindness and humility…
A reminder to extend the laurel branch… where possible.
Let us sup of the dignity of kindness and humility…
internal countdown begins
like ants to freshly landed
sugar crystal
like sunflower to rising sun
peeping from cover
like expectant pyjama'd tyke
on Christmas morn
a feeling, full grown or so,
but couldn't quite shake

A very nice, deep and multifaceted piece of work. Best wishes and warm regards,
Thanks kindly. Hurray for being the first to weigh in on this posting. Cheers!
We all retain some part of being a child inside us, a happy enjoyable read to brighten up what here is a horrible cold wet day, Thank you
Yes, thank you; it’s that something inside of us accompanying us everyday, well almost 😅

Yep, I get caught up in the mania.
It's the one time of year I allow myself to get ripped off.
Wait a minute, today I bought oysters from the farmer for $15 a dozen, and 5kg of frozen wild caught king pawns for $27.50, and got given a watermelon by the Syrian grocer. Great time of year,
Cheers
Oh true that! Have a good one 🙏🏻
Caught the feeling in this poem so well expressed with memories of childhood and the anticipation of Christmas morning. Yes it is a feeling that can't be shaken. A most lovely write.
Haha! Thanks Soren 🙏🏻

You're welcome
Lovely and upbeat and brings out my inner child. Great imagery. I still get excited about Christmas with family. Enjoyed my visit and your posted music arqios.
Thanks Cassie. 🙏🏻 Yes! As a child the J5 made Christmas quite complete with their Christmas album.
Yes, despite my poetry’s focus as of late, I too, do have that inner child within me, longing for Christmas Eve/Day. Thank you for bringing that less cynical kiddo out with this wonderful gem, my friend! 🌹👏
And though it’s rarely eventuated, the little kid does want to come out and play; “Life” just had to happen, a lot. Thanks Tristan 🙏🏻
You are welcome, friend! 🙏
The truth about growing up.It can be a lot different.Thoughtful poem
Yes indeed, it can! Thanks DWa 🙏🏻
I know what you mean. Somethings just stay with you.
My Mother loved the Frank Sinatra Christmas Album. So that’s special for me .
Have a good one.
Oh, listened to that a couple of days ago. My dad had a radio 📻 set to a Frank Sinatra station/channel and broke off the tuner so no one could change the channel. All the season’s best to you and yours 🎄
Those memories of our youth are still there arqios.
