Wanna fall in love?

rhmn_7

So you wanna fall in love

just like in those movies?

An accidental bump,

on a cold autumn day..

White papers spread between

orange maple leafs.

Pale checks suddenly flush,

Bodies meet close to the ground,

when souls meet in heaven?

Or in the library,

Glancing between the bookshelves,

Two souls catching eyes first.

Every missing book a blessing,

Captivated in a fleeting moment and

ignited by the fire of love.

The type of fire which melts stones?

Or do you wanna get stuck in the elevator?

Miss the same flight, the same train?

Like two strangers but one destination..

Do you want to return to your hometown

after years, and

meet love in a cute coffee shop?

Dance in the rain on the same night?

So you want to control love,

force it, tame it.

Shape it from the inside out.

Dictate the beginning and

predict its ending.

You don't want love,

but a shiny glittery copy.

Told, seen and felt for the millionth time.

By millions of others.

True love needs no frame,

stop tantalizing it and

let love light the way, if you like..

I doubt anyone anywhere would decline the invitation .. and if they had half a chance, most would surely jump at it .. I quite fancy it in the library myself .. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

I love this because as a young woman when I was single I really looked for this Hollywood love, it never came and I'm happy with my lot, but that is because as you rightly say in your last stanza, true love needs no frame, absolutely the best way to see it. Wonderful, and kudos for your empathy towards us ever soppy ladies 🀣

You never know when & where to expect love, just don't limit the options a few famous stories.

                    "You don't want love,
                    but a shiny glittery copy."

Shouldn't really be here at all; I've banged on about the word 'love' and what it isn't, quite often here. However you have given reasonable space to describing one form it isn't. Thumbs up from meπŸ‘

Thank you for the comment (and the thumbs)!

I grew up going to the movies, lingering over the story lines of accidental meetings that stirred a vision of perfect love in a young girls heart. Everything glittered in Hollywood, we yearned for it, and you capture that feeling perfectly in this beautifully versed poem. You then bring us gently down to earth with words that express what real love should be. Exquisitly done my friend!

                      • rhmn_7

Thank you for the comment my dear friend Bella, always happy to see you here!

                      • NafisaSB

so many options here - but love is blind, and sudden - it can happen without notice at the oddest of times, and the strangest places
imagination put to good use, enjoyed the verse

                        • rhmn_7

Love is spontaneous & mysterious in its on way indeed!

                          • NafisaSB

                            oh yes, i agree
have a lovely and productive 2025 - all the best
