Shepherds Shown

Tune: Personent Hodie = Let resounding happen today

('Long ago, prophets knew')

Luke 2 v.8-14

********

Shepherds with sheep one night

In the field saw great sight

The angel of the Lord

Brought them a message, word

This the truth that they heard

Chrous

A Saviour born be

In Bethlehem, see

Great joy to all people

E'en unto nations all

God's glory did appear

Fear not, you shepherds here

Angel said, I do bring

Joyful, wondrous tidings

Heavenly host too sings - Chorus

This to you be the sign

You shall find the babe fine

Wrapped all in swaddling clothes

In manger, thus each knows

This how Christ to man* shows - Chorus

(*mankind)

Hosts above, they God praised

To Him gracious songs raised

Glory to God on high

On earth peace was their cry

Good will to men hereby - Chorus
