when should I heal
or should I even at all
aren't I supposed to like myself
the way that I am?

Yes you should, but first you have to forgive yourself and understand that not everything is your fault.
wise advice, easier said than done. thank you for reading

You are very welcome
Perhaps you will realize at some later point when you've given up, that you have actually always been more fond of yourself than otherwise-- it's what causes us so much misery. We love ourselves, that's why we're perpetually dissatisfied with ourselves, because reality proves we fall short of our high estimation. But enough of that.
Beautifully rendered in charming brevity with a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
thank you for reading, and for your deep thoughts...I'm going to have to think about that longer!
A most interesting view on what you are and what you should change. Well written and provocative
thank you, I wonder when self-improvement becomes losing yourself because youre living on others' definition of success?
There is a thin line between pleasing others and oneself
Short gut punch... in the best way poetry can do that. You always wake me from my daily somnambulation with your questions. Wounds can heal, but the deep ones leave scars. Scars can be a sign of wisdom, and are sexy to boot!
haha! it's always too many questions and not enough answers!
Yes! You are! We all have areas we need to grow in, but we should fundamentally love ourselves for who we are. Oh, my dear friend, I feel for you as I know this struggle deeply. The struggle to love yourself. I am so praying for healing for you and trust you will resiliently find a way to it...but it is so very hard and takes time. That I know personally. Your writing, no doubt, is a part of your healing. It has been a part of mine. And I still got a hell of a lot more to heal. My heart is heavy for you, but I also rejoice at the fact that you, my talented friend, have found this outlet of expression. Anywho, I hope you are well and cannot wait to read another of your poems! 😎 And, maybe next time I won't read it 4 days late! 🤣 Hope you had a Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday!
Thank you very much! Yes, this means of an expression was a blessing to find. I'm afraid I'll now be the late one--and this time more than four days.
You're welcome. Hahaha! No worries, my friend! And yes, what a blessing indeed. 🙏❤️
