THE LONELY WOMAN

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The silent night
Reflects your sorrow
Sitting alone
A glass in hand.

Sparkling wine
One too many
As last night
The day before.

The photographs
In silver prisons
Encircled memories
Lost to time.

A glass of sand
Steadily emptying
Another cigarette
Whose smoke it swirls.

Into the stare
Of one present
Neither here
Neither there.

Another night
What is loneliness ?
In lifes cold
And bitter stare.
