Bugged out

sorenbarrett

Mourning on my floor shells found
remnants of ghosts on the ground
dried winged boxes mark their final step
fluttering falls from heights have leapt
some trudged out their life below
frozen corpses on a white tile floor of snow
legs in prayer extended to the sky
pleas ignored of the dead, only angels fly

Oh so stunning, you could be talking about the angel insect, I've never seen one, or could be metaphor either way as you always do it, with class and beauty. 🌹

    • sorenbarrett

Thanks so much Teddy for the read and comment we all have our own angels whether metaphorical or literal why not bugs?

Ah I agree totally, so very beautiful.

you see there was a reason why as a child I wanted to be an winged angel! For now the only angels around are the poems we share and enjoy. In a manner of speaking, that is.... Happy New Year Soren!!! 🎉🥳

        • sorenbarrett

Thanks so much for the read and sorry to hear that the only angels are poems, that doesn't speak well for the human race. Happy New Year to you as well

Well, wingless angels, may be... but there have been angels among the human race, as beauty is to the beholder so are angels I would think. And it would be embarrassing for the angel to say it to their face.

I wonder if the fly had their own angel, enjoyed the read

Thank you for your read and yes I'm sure that flies do to save them from the spider. Happy New Year

At first, I was thinking a moth, not sure why. But then again, maybe a moth, in the right context, could be an angel! Whatever delivers a message is a messenger. Simple as that. Anyway, wonderful poem Soren. Happy New Year, my friend! 🌹👏

I hate to see the death of any living thing. I would pause and reflect on its living, insect or not. Some would label me nuts 😂

                          Happy new year Soren.

as much as I hate insects, this poem makes their life sound sad, and tragically beautiful--a nod to traditional poetry that i enjoy!
