Hermitage wraps around him
a shimmering cloak of quiet light.
he meditates in candescent stillness
finding centredness within its glow
a candelabra’s incandescent silence.
His variegated thoughts
a stream of luminescence
flow gently through his mind
each moment, each breath aflame.
In cadences of tranquility
he discovers the serenity of self
each thought a note of calm
each breath a placid soliloquy.

I quietly mutter that I want to eat steak. In Japan, we don't eat much steak. It's a feast.
Oh, that’s why we go to the American base where they serve steak at Chilli’s in Yokosuka!

It feels like it plays softly as you read it, like classical music and the candelabras.
Yes - and going into some churches if open midweek, there can be total silence in some places.
That is a familiar feeling. The echoing can be all encompassing in their reverence as well.
And also in some places, even if full of people - as in 'Anyone awake in 'ere? (or anyone alive)'? Doh!

One of the things I was thinking I ought to do this year, not as a resolution (because those are made to be broken) but as a soft nudge of my psyche and soul…and that is to dive deeper into meditation. Such beneficial practice, imho. Anywho, wonderful poem that brings meditation and self-discovery to my mind. 🌹👏
