Nothing from what I can see! Other poems on this site today has made that clear. Friendship rejections are among the most hurtful of all types of rejections. Perhaps that’s just me but that’s how it is. 🙏🏻

        • Tristan Robert Lange

Awww. Thank you my friend! Indeed, they are among the most hurtful. Obviously the longer the friendship the more hurtful, but at any level and for any length of time, such a rejection hurts deep. Thank you again, for your time, your comment and your encouragement! 🙏❤️

          That’s not a nice feeling ..

          • Tristan Robert Lange

No, it very much isn't. Thank you for your time and for engaging my friend! ❤️🙏

          • TobaniNataiella

I am hoping that is not relating to you, as at least on this site that is not the case. Thou i understand the message, ones you take time to build a relationship with, invest in, then find out it was a one way street is one of the most painful rejections, enjoy the rest of your day.

            • Tristan Robert Lange

Yes...that is the sentiment exactly. It is in relation to me. Indeed, I have gone through this yet again with someone in my life. There one minute, gone without a trace the next. Not physically gone in terms of I don't know where they are; rather, in terms of being "ghosted" for no apparent reason. No explanation, no way to know if I did something wrong. Just gone. It made me reflect on other even more serious times I had been rejected by friends in the past. I am someone who puts my all into everything, including and especially relationships. I value them. The poem, while using hyperbole in regard to the "always" part, is capturing that feeling one has when such going through rejections. Of course, I have good friends in my life who have not rejected me; however, I have throughout my life faced such rejection multiple times. Especially as a kid. So, this is relating to me...though maybe not as drastically (I've not ALWAYS been rejected) as it states. As for this site, indeed, I have found this site to mostly (there’s always one or two 🤣) be a warm and inclusive community. I am very grateful for MPS indeed. 😊 Anywho, thank you so much for your time and your feedback my friend. Your care comes through, and I certainly appreciate that. 🙏❤️

Aww, what a topic for a senryu. So charmingly rendered with a piercing poignancy, who could resist?

                • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much Cheeky! Glad it delivered and you found it irresistible. Much appreciated! ❤️🙏

Lovely Tristan let me humbly introject this
                  I value friendships
                  I always get rejected
                  What is wrong with them?

                  • Tristan Robert Lange

Indeed. It is so hard to think that way sometimes, like we are hard-wired to think the problem lies with us (or at least I am, anyway). Ultimately though, you are are right and I truly thank you for those words, my dear friend! 🙏❤️

yes! this is exactly what I was saying in my comment!

                      There were some strange things

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much for taking the time and reading my friend. I am slightly confused as to what is meant by “there were some strange things”, perhaps that it is strange for people to reject others? Regardless, I truly value your time and your interpretation. I do hope, despite its theme, it resonated in a positive way. Thank you again! ❤️🙏

                        • rin

The meaning may have changed due to machine translation, but thank you for understanding that I wanted to write my thoughts on your poem someday. I want to be able to write my thoughts on your poems again.

                          • Tristan Robert Lange

You are welcome. I certainly understand, Rin. As long as you feel my interpretation did your thoughts justice that works fine for me. I have no problem using Google Translate either. So, either way. I am just so very thankful for technology that allows all of us human beings to connect and form friendships from all around the world, different cultures, languages...connecting. I find that to be immensely beautiful. 私の詩を読んでくださって本当にありがとうございます、友よ!いつかあなたの美しい国を訪れたいと思っています。 ❤️🙏 Now, I really really hope that translates to something understandable...🤣 Thank you again, my friend! ❤️🙏

Good senryu T. Bit of French there?! lol. Woof! says Fido, you know it's not french, Orchi.

                            • Tristan Robert Lange

LOL! French...Japanese...same planet, right? 🤣 Thank you so much, my dear friend! Glad you enjoyed it and I very much enjoyed your French and Fido's correction! Gave me a big ol' smile, which I needed today! 🌹👏 You are much appreciated my friend!

I'm the guy who spent so long on finding out what 'Carpe Diem' meant, that by the time I found out it was night time and there was no day left to seize! Doh! Does it only happen to me, these (mostly fictional) things?! lol.

                                • Tristan Robert Lange

Most fictionally not 🤣 In some alternate universe, I think Carpe Diem is an ancient “daycarpet” sold in Rome. Universe #13 in the Dead Poet’s Society multiverse franchise. 😝

                                  • orchidee

                                    Lol.

I've been rejected. And done some rejecting!
Perhaps we were doing each other a favor? I guess there's only One in the whole universe we can truly rely on.
                                    Great write, Tristan.

A senryu. A sad one. You always get rejected? Dear Tristen, you come across as mighty popular on MPS? I hope this isn’t about you.

                                                • Tristan Robert Lange

Hi Cassie! Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to read and comment. No, of course I don't "always" get rejected. My poem is employing hyperbole in a way similar to how the emotions run when one suffers multiple rejections. This does indeed come out of my own personal experience. I hope you don't mind, but to save on carpel tunnel, I will copy and paste what I wrote to Tobani/Nataiella above:

"Indeed, I have gone through this yet again with someone in my life. 😊"

So, I do recognize that I have not "always" been rejected, but the poem captures that feeling of "total" rejection one gets when they've been rejected many times. Anyway, another book explanation from me! 🤣 Thank you for caring, dearest Cassie! That means a lot to me and...it is good to NOT be rejected on MPS. That would be an unbearable tragedy for me. So, I'm punting that ⚽️ right the hell away! 😂 Thank you, again, for everything. 🩷

You maybe need to rethink your definition of friendship, eh?

                                                  • Tristan Robert Lange

Not sure. Do I? 🤷‍♂️My senryu doesn’t define anything, friendship or otherwise: rather, it expresses the feeling of rejection. With that said, I would pose this question: one’s definitions are informed by their experiences, no? Food for thought. Thank you so much, Dan, for your time and engagement. Always much appreciated, friend. 🙏❤️

i think so many people view “ friendship” as means to an end- they lose sight of the fact that sharing yourself with another is valuable in its own right

                                                    • Tristan Robert Lange

I wholehearted agree with you, my friend; as such, the tragically all into breaking Kant's Categorical Imperative. Human nature? Perhaps. But it sucks. Thank you so much for your time and you astute and thoughtful analysis, my friend. ❤️🙏

                                                      • vicecream

I think it is a symptom of a chronically disconnected world at large- I also am hopeful because I think the need for authentic connection is encoded in the core of human nature and so I think it’s inevitable that we turn back toward that. I think as a society we just need to relearn that truth. Keep trying! Don’t give up!
