Tune: Laos Deo
('Bright the vision that delighted')
Psalm 147 v.1-5
**********
Praise you the Lord, for it good be
To sing praises to Him free
For it is pleasant and comely
Beautiful, joyful it be
The Lord Jerusalem does build
Hill and vale and town and field
Gathers the outcasts, forsaken
Restores them now amidst men* (*mankind)
He does heal the broken in heart
Wholeness brings to every part
Binds up their wounds, comforts sorrows
Thus each His peace, presence knows
He counts the stars, knows their number
Call them by their names, each were
Created by Him, every thing
In heaven and earth, praise bring
Bring unto Him, for He is great
And of great power, estate
His understanding infinite
Doing justice, goodness, right

- Comment from author about the poem: There's not a great amount of material on the Epiphany. I admit I chose some easier format hymns on that theme. I've attempted some with longer lines before, such as 13.10.13.10. or 11.10.11.10. or needing a Chorus as in 'We three kings of Orient are'. Maybe more on this theme to follow. Here's a non-Epiphany hymn-poem in 8.7.8.7. Sounds like bingo reading this. lol.

Another powerful hymn about a powerful subject nicely written Orchi
Thanks SB.
The Epiphany was my most favourite season as a child. It filled me with such wonder. Good of you to add on to the meagre material on it. ππ»πππ»
Thanks A. It's only mentioned in one of the 4 Gospels, plus some prophecies that point forward to it, I think.
All the more intriguing and interesting! π€something definitely worth a looking into! ππ»π§
