in the evenings stillness
cranes swarm,
settling on branches-
their beauty glows luminous
as the sun settles beyond
the vastness of the ocean~
In their nests soft bodies
lie in peaceful slumber,
one day soon
to surface with wings
spread strong and steady~
eventually they will soar,
press onward, spiral across
the span of ageless skies
on their wondrous journey-
once more poetry
shall come to bless
each new breaking dawn~
