I cannot remember it never being there;
Those sounds, so wondrous enveloping my senses.
From my earliest years I was surrounded
By the music of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky
And of course Mozart.
I have listened and loved all types of music,
From the stunning soundscapes created by Tallis,
The genius Johann Sebastian Bach.
The many Russians who create such music
That the wonder of the sounds astound me.
I have ventured into more modern music,
With Shostakovitch, Messian and Glass.
Glass a composer that is surprising,
Seemingly so simple and repetitive,
But wonderful sounds enter my mind.
There is always jazz, always there,
Oscar, Dave, Dizzy, Miles, The Bird.
How do they make this wonderful sound
That comes from their hearts, with
Such amazing ease.
So many emotions come to me
When listening, I laugh, I cry
I get angry, I feel love and I feel calm.
Music, is my refuge when life
Gets in the way of living.
There often comes a point in my life
Where only Quo will do
You know what you are going to get;
It always lifts my state no matter
What level my mind is at.
The genius of music by Pink Ffloyd,
The Moody Blues and Queen.
They would get nowhere now,
In this time of formulaic music
That has to follow a set pattern.
There is so much music.
I realise that the more
I know about music, the more
Ignorant I am, so,
I strive to learn more.
With all these journeys into
Many and various genres of music
I find that I need to come back
To a solid foundation, so I surround myself
With the genius that is Mozart.

A fine tribute to music Andy. I feel the same. Both music and poetry are a refuge to me. I canβt imagine how dull life would be without them. My parents introduced me to music at an early age and classical music was played often in our home. Music does tune in to our emotions. Thank you for Lang Lang and Mozart this morning. So relaxing. Got my Sunday off to a good start. Have a lovely day you and Mary.
So glad that you had music in you life Cassie form a young age, it is so important in life. Thank you for your kind words.

Nursery, ante-natal, and preschool music are always there, almost like white noise. Remember when they first released Classical Music for People Who Hate Classical Music? All the selections are surrounding us everyday in some form or other. No wonder! But I am truly blessed by your relationship with music. That is something to enjoy and truly emulate. ππ»ποΈπ
Thank you arqios, I hope that you do enjoy music in your life.

Oh, most definitely, Andy. Music plays at home almost 16 hours/day, sometimes even while we sleep. πΆπ»
So glad to hear that, If my daughter comes in and there is no music playing she asks if I am feeling unwell. LOL
Oh, thatβs really quite nice of her! ππ»π
It's Stockhausen for me - my favourite! Only probably because it drowns out my singing. lol.
As Beecham said Orchi, I have trod in some. LOL

Very nice Andy I too love music and agree about the formula of todays music and its electronic alterations toward their view of perfection. Some new artists break the mold Jacob Collier, Ren, Aurora, Dimash to mention a few. A great read my friend
Thank you form your wise words soren, yes there are musicians who break the mold. |It surprises me how good some of the recent classical composers bring music to my heart.

I listen to this Mozart piano concerto evey morning on my walk, and it never fails to please the ear. Music is a wonderful refuge from the world these days, and I thank you for putting into words. You will be surrounded by the beauty of music forever.
So glad to hear that you listen to Mozart Bella and that music is your refuge as it is mine, keep listening.

Without music the world really would die. Beautiful dearest Andy. πΉ
It certainly would die Teddy, it is what must keep us all together in peace.
