The internet speaks
truth
in pixels and codes:
Flashing screens hold answers
no deception behind the glow.
Honesty rests in data
in the relentless flow of information.
Each search reveals facts
dispelling shadows, bringing clarity.
Unbiased, the network presents
knowledge untainted by whispers;
digital clarity
a constant beacon
guiding minds through its labyrinth.
The internet should not lie….

- Comment from author about the poem: However…. (see subsequent poem, please) [ GIGO stands for "Garbage In, Garbage Out," a concept in computer science and information technology that highlights the importance of accurate and high-quality input data. The idea is straightforward: if you provide faulty, incorrect, or poor-quality data to a computer system or algorithm, the output or results generated will also be flawed or useless. Imagine feeding a recipe with spoiled ingredients—you can't expect a delicious dish in the end. Similarly, in computing, the quality of the output is directly dependent on the quality of the input. This principle underscores the necessity for careful data handling, validation, and preprocessing to ensure reliable and meaningful results from computational processes. It's a reminder that even the most sophisticated systems cannot overcome poor data quality. ]

But it can lie, I used to work in computing and it can be programmed to tell untruths.

So true. But people will end up believing anything as well… crazy dynamic 🙏🏻🕊️
It matters not whether the data entry of faulty material is intentional or not the outcome is the same. In an everchanging world what was true yesterday no longer is today so output based on yesterdays input is no longer correct today. A most mind provoking write and well done as well with the lead in line spewing what is known to be most controversial ( the internet speaks truth) one of those statements that is both true and false. Loved it
Crazy situation isn’t it! Thanks for getting it🙏🏻🕊️
If its made by human beings there will be 50% lies an 50% truth.Great poem mi amigo
Reminds me of investigations ending in “human error” as the conclusion 🙏🏻🕊️
If I can find it in an internet search then it must be real!
Yup! That’s the sorry state of affairs 🙏🏻🕊️
It shouldn't lie, but it is programmed by humans so it's bound to. makes you wonder how it will be when the computers completely take over, enjoyed the read
That would be the next concert down the road! 🙏🏻🕊️
Sadly it does lie! well written ,Your poem aims to inspire and empower the conviction that the internet can be a reliable source of information amidst a landscape often plagued by doubt and misinformation, championing a visionary view of technology as a catalyst for knowledge and understanding.
The us-side of technology is thus quite important; thanks kindly 🙏🏻🕊
A most though-provoking poem, my friend. Question, if the Internet does not lie, what about AI? 🤖 🤣 Okay, okay, I could not resist that. Seriously though, between your poem and your note, what I am getting is that the input feeds the output, which makes perfect sense. Bad input equals bad output. And people never enter in 100% good input, do we? Hence the silly AI question, but it is not that silly at all, is it? What we knew to be truths today are no longer seen as truths, in sometimes very scary ways. Everything we have is fed to us through a single device that we carry on our person all the time. We sometimes even talk to people in the same room through them. My kids would notoriously NOT get an answer if they did that! 🤣 Anywho, all of this to ask, what is truth anymore? It, of course, still exists. A very fine write, my friend, that got the gears in my head spinning! A fave for sure!
Try philosophising with Siri and Alexa, et al- it doesn’t lead anywhere. And there’s a narrow narrative that doesn’t trigger false or deep fake triggers…. Where does that leave us? Is it a technological mirror image of our greatness and our flaws melded together…. yada, yada 🙏🏻🕊️
Totally! That is exactly what it is!
Indeed true
Thanks ChrisLyn🙏🏻🕊️
Great write
