Tune: Southwell
('Lord Jesus, think on me')
Psalm 6 parts
********
Have mercy on me, Lord
Come heal me by your word
Or touch of compassion and love
O gentle heavenly dove
For I am weak and frail
Let sickness not prevail
Though I be without strength, restore
Me in my state here poor
My soul, as body too
Is vexed, troubled, O you
Lord return to me, have mercy
Save me, grant help to me
You, Lord, my prayer will hear
Will unto me draw near
Will restore, heal, and comfort me
So your graces I see

Now this is a different style of hymn Orchi. Most interesting very nice
Thanks SB.
A hymn that cries out to God for help and healing. Beautiful Orchi! You are on to something here. There are not enough hymns that deal with lament, the need for God's help, healing, etc at this deep of a level. There are some good ones, but there should be more. Well done on this, my friend. ❤️
Thanks T. Yes, certain Psalms are on a lamenting theme.
Indeed. And powerful Psalms they are. You're welcome, my friend!
Some relate to the 'sickness' of sin, and the 'healing' of forgiveness needed. There's not all praise-y, we know!
Let the anguish be heard! I am surrounded, rescue me! So good to belt it out!
Thank you A.
