The other side of the screen

If you could hear my voice

you would know

I was crying on the other side

As I comforted you

If you could see my face

Realise that I was not okay

You would see that I needed you

And you wouldnt know

Even as I spoke

You were on the other side

Right next to me

On your phone

Ignoring the tears that fell from my face onto the chair

As I smiled

such a small phrase

"Dont just sit there"

really struck

because I sit there everyday

and talk to you

and comfort you

laugh with you

with tears dripping down my face

and you dont even know

how much it bleeds

inside

My mouth tastes blood

From the words that cut my mouth

even as I say this

sitting on the chair

I know its the start

of what you dont understand
