On The Outside Looking In

Poetic Licence

On the Outside Looking In.

I am on the outside still looking in.

Left wondering what could have been.

If I had been dealt a winning hand.

I could be wearing your wedding band.

The man you are holding in your arms.

Is the man who you he has charmed.

He gives you everything I never could.

The reasons you left me I understood.

I can see you are in a very good space.

I love you, that brings a smile to my face.

I have some resentment and jealousy.

That eases when I see you looking happy.

My crazy mind says it could have worked.

If you had listened to when I had talked.

We could have removed the dark clouds.

I think together we could of worked it out.

I am still wishing you nothing but good.

Always wanting to be with you if I could.

My heart is remembering and is hoping.

Alone, I stand on the outside looking in.

I hear love in this poem not passion but love. When one loves someone it is shown in wishing that person what is best for them not necessarily what we want. Very nicely done

Wow, heartbreaking. But also true love, no? Love not only receives, but gives. It not only keeps, but it also knows when to let go. Heartbreaking for the one who goes without in the end, but it is true love that dictates that. Very relatable and a wonderful write, Nataiella! πŸŒΉπŸ‘

What's not to like or love .. Some things are just not meant to be .. no matter how much one might want them to be .. a lesson for everyone .. Neville

We're always on the outside looking in on others lives, I wonder who's looking at ours, who's envious of ours.
