The Power of the Sea

Philip

I love the sea in all her moods

The azure sea shallow on the sand with golden sunlight dancing on the ripples

The deep blue sea with a white foam top and a breeze which caresses you face

The blue black power a a storm with chaotic movement angry against the rocks

I shut my eyes, taste the salt on my lips and know that I am home

  • Comment from author about the poem: Here in the U.K my favourite beach is at Milford on Sea. There is nothing particularly special about it except I consider it my space and I visit it (and swim in it) when ever I can.

This is a beautiful poem by itself with wonderful imagery but beneath the surface is a metaphor of people as a sea they too are calm or tempestuous and the salt of their kiss tells us we are home. Beautiful
