Tune: Ravenshaw
('Lord, thy word abideth')
Psalm 78 v.52-55
*******
You, Lord, made your people
To go forth like sheep all
Through wilderness guided
And for the provided
Uou led them on safely
Not fearing but surely
Trusting you, but then the sea
O'erwhelmed enemies, see
You brought them to the land
You had promised, by your hand* (*Spirit)
You sanctuary, dwelling place
Your mountain they did trace
They your purchased people
Redeemed from enemy's thrall
Heathen cast out, they did live
In land, and praise you give

That brings me to this day’s provision. A whole year of striving and many more in queue…. Phew! Good one O! 👍🏻🕊🙏🏻
Thank you A.
It seems that whether Jews, Mormons, christians in general all have had their time of persecution and sought their promised land where they believe God has led them I find this most interesting. Your hymn brought on this thought in its mention of this in the second to the last stanza. I guess that persecution raises a need for a place to feel safe. Great write Orchi
Thank you SB.
That tune is my favorite, just for being called Ravenshaw. Clearly, named in honor of Mr. Poe! 🤣 Well done, Orchi!!!
Thank you T. I admit I picked out some of the 'good bits' of that Psalm - unless one wants to cover all the 72 verses in it! It alternates throughout between the people's disobeying, sinning, etc and God's providings.
Yes, you did. But hey, poetic license, right? It would have been quite lengthy had you not done that! 🤣
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
