Tune: Wareham
('Jesus, where'er thy people meet')
Psalm 102 v.12-17
********
You, O Lord, shall endure ever
And shall be forgotten never
You shall arise, and have mercy
On Zion, it your city be
For the time to favour her, yes
Is come, the set time to her bless
For her servants they take pleasure
In her store, e'en dust, her treasures
So the heathen shall fear your name
Manoe of the Lord of endless fame
All rulers of the earth they too
Shall fear you, worship you anew
When the Lord shall build up Zion
He shall appear, glorified one
Will regard prayer of destitute
Not despise it, not it refute

The seal of zeal is peace and prayer. Good write O🙏🏻🕊
Thank you A.
I can almost hear this hymn being sung it is so clear. Nicely done Orchi
Thank you SB. Yes, they sing it loud enough to drown my screeching! lol.
Zion = God's glory and presence. God's presence demands holiness/righeousness...therefore to despise, spurn or refute that is a blight against Godself. This is what drives me insane about all of the "Christian" Right's (in American Politics) posturing over the nation of modern Israel. They're willing to bulldoze lives down to reclaim that land, but it disgraces the God they supposedly worship. Okay, I've stepped off my soapbox now and will get back to the hymn-poem. Wonderfully rendered and, as you can see, thought-provoking, my friend! 🌹👏 An easy fave!
Thank you T.
