Feminism, but can I keep my bra?

NinjaGirl

I'm all for equal rights

Equal pay

Equal maternity and paternity leave

I don't care

If you choose to live on a farm

Or to be CEO

To work as a seamstress

Or to work at an oil rig

I'm willing to protest

The unreachable standards

Both women and men are held to

I tell people

Feminism isn't just about women

Truly it's equality

With a fancy name

I'll march marches

Make posters

But

Let me keep my bra,

Despite the patriarchy I'm more comfortable wearing it!

        Yea you welcome!

Love the metaphor here that there are differences and that they are to be respected. Equal mean just that whether man or woman and recognizing that we are all equal in rights we are not equal in talents, physic, or mind. All to be respected.

Thank you! I don't argue that men and women are very different from each other, but they do deserve to be treated equal under the law

          • sorenbarrett

Not only under the law but in respect by all for differences never men inequality in love, honor, respect, freedom, or hope each with our own niche to fill.

The plain speaking rebel talks in this poem. Yes and more yes, we need more of this. Wonderful!
